KUCHING — Parti Sedar Rakyat (SEDAR) is now officially known as Parti Wawasan Rakyat (Wawasan) following approval by the Registrar of Societies Malaysia (RoS) for the party’s change of name in August 2026.
The change marks a new chapter in the party’s journey, introducing a renewed identity and commitment to advancing the interests and aspirations of the people.
According to Parti Wawasan Rakyat President Affendi Jeman, the transition to Wawasan is more than simply a change of name. It reflects a broader commitment to looking towards the future with foresight, maturity and courage.
Wawasan Rakyat seeks to promote a political approach that prioritises unity over division, solutions over blame, and the interests of the people above narrow interests.
In this new phase, the party will focus on strengthening its organisational structure, expanding its grassroots network, and developing a more comprehensive policy framework and vision for development.
Wawasan Rakyat also advocates a culture of leadership centred on service to the community, reflecting the principle of “Yang Berkhidmat, not Yang Berhormat.”
With its renewed identity, Wawasan Rakyat looks forward to working alongside the people towards a more progressive, fair, inclusive and prosperous Sarawak.
